Condo & Strata Bin Rules: What Boards Usually Require
Certificates of insurance, placement maps, and quiet hours. How to get approval before the truck shows up.
Condos and stratas often care less about the bin brand than about liability, parking, and mess. Expect requests for proof of insurance from the hauler, a described drop location, start/end dates, and sometimes a damage deposit for the courtyard or parkade ramp.
Many buildings ban bins in visitor parking without prior booking, and some prohibit overnight street-facing containers. Quiet-hour rules can block early-morning deliveries.
Start the approval email a week early. Offer haul-away as plan B if the board will not allow a container — crews can remove reno debris without occupying a stall for days. Never assume a visitor stall is fair game on demo morning.
