Hot Tub, Deck & Fence Removal: Bin Sizes

Outdoor tear-outs are a classic weekend project. Sizing tips for spas, deck boards, and fence lines.

Hot tubs look huge but crush down once cut apart — the shell, skirt, and decking around them often fit in a 10- or 14-yard with room for extra fence boards. Confirm whether the hauler accepts the spa shell; some prefer it cut into sections.

A typical backyard deck tear-off (roughly 200–400 sq ft) often lands in a 14- to 20-yard bin once you add railings and stairs. Buried footings and concrete piers should go as clean concrete, not mixed with boards.

Fence replacement along a full backyard can surprise you with volume — posts, panels, and old gates stack poorly. If you are doing deck plus fence the same weekend, size up or book a mid-project swap so you are not stuck with a piled-over rail on Sunday night.
